And what do you Seek?

I seek the Holy Grail.

Don’t we all?

I’m sure that each of us would like some sort of quest that is uniquely ours. The only one with that quest to solve and the only one who can solve it.

Imagine that your character that you role play must save the world by completing this quest. Do you role play to fail? Do you succeed and flaunt your success? Any numerous ways to do it.

Some of the best quests I have done were the ones which took cooperation between several players. Each acting out a specific part in the quest.

Gather the items required. Each player had a specific ability that was required to gain an item. Unfortunately, no one else could get those items because of this. So it required lots of cooperation. Difficult to do if you are all from different time zones.

Once the items were gathered they were assembled into one piece. This piece lead to an area to be unlocked by the newly created item. Once there, we again had to cooperate to complete the goal of reaching the bad guy.(why is there always a bad guy at the end of these things?)

Eventually, through the cooperation, we completed the quest.

And there was much rejoicing. Yay!

It is quite possible to RP while doing a quest. They shouldn’t simply be get it done as fast as you can. Well built quests will not only make you think but will also require you to intereact with each other.

Do you want to make doing quests more exciting? Try it then. Do the entire quest while immersing yourself in the character you play. Role play your character through the entire ordeal. Document the experience as if you were the character. I’ll have to do that for you the next quest I attempt to complete so you know what to look for or what you could do better.
