To donate or not to donate… That is the question. Unfortunately the answer isn’t all that clear.

Many games request donations. Many of them deserve the donations.

Why do they ask for these donations? Mostly to pay for the bandwidth and computer that is being used to host the game that everyone seems to enjoy using. Of course there is always that small hope that the donations recieved in a month will exceed the bills for that month.

Most people who code and design a game do it for the fun of it. Almost all of them start out paying for everything on their own. Many do not ever hope to recouperate the money they spend making a game that many people enjoy.

Its great to see some of the games actually make a small bit of money doing what they love. Even through donations.

If you have just $1.00 to donate to your favorite game why not do so? That’s less than the price of a 1 liter bottle of soda. And they will certainly appreciate your small contribution.

Remember, most of these people do it for fun. Showing them support in the form of donations actually helps them continue working on the game you enjoy so much.
