YAY!!!! This year’s Pinewood Derby is done.

The most involved event that I run is done for an entire year. I only have one more year of doing this and I can hand it off to some other sucker(er… I mean leader).

This year’s event went much more smoothly than last years. Really happy that it did as well. I guess I’ll need to modify the start gate for our button but that is something I can work on throughout the year.

Had about 55 of 65 boys show up to race their cars. It went well in general. We had a few minor glitches and only one major. Guess we will try something different for the awards next year. At least a faster printer. Maybe more.

The new track we purchased was awesome. Much faster than our old wooden track. I still think it went together much easier than the wooden track as well. We will have to see how well it handles storage and how well I remember for next year.

Had lots of fun though. My son won second in the den once again. Seems like that is every year. Maybe next year we can do first place. I’ll have to help him with the wheels a bit more to get the alignment straighter.

Overall, it was a great day for a Pinewood Derby race.
