Just in case you are wondering about why I haven’t been around much lately.  I thought I would post here and let everyone know what is going on.I recently changed jobs.  About Janurary.  This was a major change in my income.  Almost back to where I was before I moved to Florida to escape Atlanta.

What this did for me was make it so that I could finally start looking for a home.  The bad thing about it is that the prices around here have gotten so high that I still cannot afford one near where I work.  I would need an additional 30k a year for that.  Even then I’m not so certain that I would be able to afford it since starting prices for a 30yr old house is about 260k right now.

Only 3 years ago, I could have bought a really nice house within my income.  Amazing what has happened in the last 3 years.  And it is only going to get worse.

Anyway, I digress a little bit there.

I have been looking for something I can afford for about a month now.  I think I have decided that it is time to move into my own place.  Rent is going up.

The area I have been searching is about 20 miles from here.  It will be a long drive.  But not all that much longer than what I currently do really. Especially once where I work moves locations.

This is way out in the country.  Even there the prices are exceeding my income.  But not by much.  And what I do find that I can afford is quite old.

I decided that I would benefit more by purchasing a new manufactured home.   Since over half of the properties I can afford had maunfacutred homes on them.  This got me thinking about finding my own lot and putting a new manufactured home on it.

I have found two lots that are appealing.  One is more than an acre and the other is just a little under an acre.  Fairly good sized lots.  The first is going for 35K and the second is going for approximately 30k.  I say approximately because it is through the owner and not a realestate agent.

This means that I can have a fairly good sized home put on a nice sized lot.

I will be working on getting all the details sorted out in the next couple weeks on this.  So I will be around off and on as I get time.

I have also been working on paid programming projects when I am not working on the new house.  So that has been taking up some of my time as well.

And the new job has me working a bit of overtime.  Already have over 40 hours of overtime in the last 2 1/2 months.

Things will settle down and I can get back to work on providing more fun on the site and games.
