Movie Review - X-men 3
For a PG-13 Movie, I don’t think I have seen so many people bite the dust in a long time. Granted it wasn’t bloody or gory so I guess that is why they gave it the PG-13 rating.
Great to see some of the characters introduced last movie into this movie with bigger roles. Colossus and Kitty played a much bigger role this time around. Both of whom are some of my favorite characters. I have never been a great fan of the Beast so it really won’t bother me if he doesn’t show up in the next movie.
What did bother me was the deaths of several of the main characters. It will be very difficult to bring those back if they wanted to. Though one of them isn’t so certain that they are dead.
Unlike Mission Impossible 3, X-Men 3 had a few slow points. It kind of let you rest between the highs of the action so you could be ready for the next action sequence. Though the intensity wasn’t nearly the same.
I have always loved the X-Men movies and I have collected the comics for a very long time. So watching this was a treat. However, it was slow at times. I dont’ think it was quite as action packed as the last movie I saw. But it did keep in tradition with much of the comic book characters.
The ending was quite a bit of a let down though. It would have been nice to see more of the Brotherhood of Mutants survive. Even with the things that did happen, quite a few of the characters will be back for another movie. They couldn’t just stop making these. Lets just hope they don’t get as corny as the Batman movies got and they keep the new character introduction to a minimum in each movie.
We went to the matinee showing of this movie and I wasn’t disappointed. Though I am not so certain that it would have been worth the full price adminssion after watching it. I give it a Matinee rating. But if you really have to see it at full price you probably won’t be disappointed.
