Movie Review - Night at the Museum
Even though I am not a fan of Ben Stiller, I do have to admit I really enjoyed watching this movie.
I am sure you probably have already seen the trailers of this movie on TV but you get a better laugh and appreciation of the movie by actually watching it. There are quite a few great scenes which aren’t in the trailers.
This is a typical Ben Stiller movie. The style fits him perfectly.
It is about a divorced father trying to make it with his son. Similar to “Liar, Liar”, Larry Daley(Ben Stiller) is a divorced father who can’t seem to get his act together and is faced with losing visitation to his son. Larry’s odd “schemes” never pan out and is forced to find a real job or face moving and losing cherished time with his son. This is when he finds a job at a most amazing museum.
However, the similarity to “Liar, Liar” is short lived. Larry faces an unimaginable possibility where the museum comes to life at night. Several mishaps occur because he just can’t believe what is happening himself and he almost loses the job.
I can’t say it is all laughs, but between the laughs and the action, there is plenty to keep you watching without falling asleep. I was pleasantly suprised by the movie and quite glad I went to watch it.
I will have to give this a Full Price rating. Not often I give one of those but it was worth the admission and I wouldn’t have been disappointed at seeing it if I hadn’t caught it at the matinee and had to see it for full price.
Go see it. You will enjoy it.
