Got a call from the body shop today.  One of those good news bad news deals.  Good news for me bad news for the insurance company.

Apparently it is much easier to just replace the frame on my truck than it is to try and return it to its original shape.  Of course if they had tried to return it to its original shape then it wouldn’t have had the same rigidity as the original undamaged frame.  Body shop felt that to get the truck back to where it was it needed a new frame.

Of course this means more money.  I don’t care since I’m not paying for it.  It may even be finished earlier because of it.

I don’t know how much this adds to the cost but when I find out I’ll post it here to let you know.

Wish they would just buy the truck from me for 28k and everyone could be happy.  Well…. maybe not the insurance company but I sure would.  I’d go get me a new Tundra.  I’m sure that the new frame will add a couple thousand to the repair estimate.
